

Mary was born to Peter and Florence Castronovo on February 16, 1933. Mary was a world-traveler and had many adventures abroad, including trips to Sicily to visit the Italian branch of the family.
Mary was the backbone of her family and devoted a lot of time and energy to cooking and hosting her loved ones. She also was part of the St. Francis Borgia Club, a Catholic women’s club, as well as the Red Hat Ladies.
Preceding Mary in death are her parents; and her sisters Margaret Schultz, Josephine Ryndak, Genevieve Kale, and Pauline Chisesi.
Mary is survived by her beloved sister Diane Daeumer; her nieces Irene (David) Zacharko, Renee (David) Applet, Cheryl (Gary) McConnell, and Karen Schultz; and her nephew Glenn (Holly) Schultz. She was also a devoted great-aunt to many loving great-nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held on February 14, 2026, at 10:30 am at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, located at 3546 N Paulina St, Chicago, IL 60657.
