

Mary Kathryn Eyerman, born March 3, 1940, passed away August 11, 2026, in Chicago, Illinois at 86 years old. She was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, and her presence will be deeply missed.
Mary Kay was born to Mark Evans and Kathryn (Steinbower) Evans in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Ohio State University, where she met her husband, Thomas of 63 years. She was a dedicated member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She loved reading, traveling with her family, and owls.
Mary Kay, alongside her husband Thomas, served as the Editor-in-Chief for the London Datebook UK for many years before retiring. They also founded the Mary Kay and Thomas Eyerman Foundation, in which they supported a wide range of charities and organizations such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the OSU Foundation, and The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. She was also a benefactor, board member, and lover of a wide range of organizations such as Art Institute of Chicago, The Ohio State University, and the Shedd Aquarium. Mary Kay will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, and faith.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Eyerman, 87 years old; her three children, Fr. Matthew Simeon Eyerman of Chicago, Illinois; David Jude Eyerman of Centennial, Colorado; and Nicole Kathryn Knight of Indianapolis, Indiana; and her beloved grandchildren, Evan, Kathryn, Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Mark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy.
Her service will be held on August 22, 2026 at Blessed Maria Gabriella Catholic Church in Chicago, Illinois at 12pm. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio.
