

Survived by her loving husband Edmund of 51.5 years.
Graduated from National Louis University in 1977 with a Bachelors, and her Masters in Public Health at Roosevelt University in 1997.
She worked in social services for Jane Addams Hull House Chicago. She created the Sibling Support Program for Illinois Masonic Hospital.
She was recognized in the NYtimes for her program at Illinois Masonic with Dr. Roland.
She was an avid reader and built a library in the Florida Library system and served as the executive director for many years there. She also worked diligently for the league of women voters. She played mahjong, loved movies, and enjoyed swimming.
Best remembered for her resilience, optimism, wisdom, inclusiveness, friendships, and thoughtfulness. She was dedicated to family.
Lovingly remembered by her sister Signe Smolin, son Timothy McGuire, stepdaughter Maribeth Hearn (William), grandsons Michael, Joseph, nieces Terri Murray (Patrick), Patricia Smolin, (Ron Weiszmann), great nieces Marta & Billie Murray; nieces Erin, Sharon, Kelly, Megan and nephew John, sister in law Mary Ellen McGuire, brother in law Jim Blankshain, nephew Michael, and niece Kerry.
