It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Magallanez, a cherished father, devoted son, loyal brother, and true friend to many. He departed this life leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was the proud father of Catherine, Alexander, and Michael Magallanez Jr.; the loving son of Rose Marie Forst and Alberto (Christina) Magallanez Jr.; and the dear brother of Alberto Magallanez III. He was also a fond nephew, cousin, and a loyal friend to countless others.
A true renaissance man, Michael lived a life full of purpose and passion. He served his community with honor as a Chicago firefighter, displayed incredible skill and dedication as a mechanic, and later ran Yellow Cab in Chicago. He was a proud and lifelong fan of Chicago sports, especially the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks.
Known for his big heart and even bigger personality, he was always the first to lend a helping hand and the last to leave a gathering—often the one making everyone laugh. He deeply valued family, maintaining close ties with both immediate and extended relatives throughout his life.
We invite all who knew and loved him to join us for a Celebration of Life, where we will gather to remember the joy he brought into our lives and share the lasting impact he made on us all. Services will be held on May 31st, 2025 at Andrew J. McGann and Son Funeral Home 10727 S. Pulaski Rd. Chicago, IL 60655 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm.
His warmth, generosity, and spirit will be forever missed and always remembered.
