Born on July 25, 1929 in Santa Clara, Cuba and arrived in the United States via the Freedom Flights in 1971, which is when she made Chicago her home. She passed away peacefully at home on March 19, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. A loving wife to Zoilo Ibrahim( deceased 1978), dear mother to Mirta, Miriam and sister to Juan, Carmen Luisa, Eulogio; as well as a caring friend to many. She was a cook, who never used a recipe, but whose friends acknowledged made the best Cuban food in town. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, sewing and having lunch on Saturdays with her best friend Gilda. Her favorite charity was the American Red Cross.
