Dottie & Family,  

We are so sorry for your loss.  It was always such a delight for us to chat with Sonny at the Harbor. He was always hoping to catch the "big one" while fishing off the dock!  We will miss him, and hope that you will find comfort in all of the wonderful memories you have.  We are thinking of you....

     I met Sonny at Montrose Harbor on one hot day in june 2006, ever since that day our friendship began, Sonny was like a grandfather to me and my family, he always welcomed us to his house and his boat, he gave me a job when he really did not have it for me, the job did not last too long but our friendship did, me and Sonny did a lot of things together and those things I will never forget, My most sincere condolences for the Chastain family. Luis F Carrillo and Miriam Carrillo will never forget him, my daughter Dany and my son "porker" as Sonny named him, do not understand why he had to leave us.
     His memory will remain with us forever, he will be missed by us and many, I was not able to attend the services due to a week long work meeting in Arkansas, my wife was there in my behalf. WE LOVE YOU SONNY.

Boo, I know your with our heavenly father now.  A peaceful, calm no more pain life.  My prayer is that we shall all be there together one day.  Love & miss you!

It was almost 20 years ago when I  met Ollie ( Sonny).

My introduction to him was the first day I parked  my car in the  garage (  I live next store).  This tall guy comes into my garage as I parked my car and says"
"Hey, you left the garage door open and I shut it for you."   Before I could thank him he walked away. I said my name is Jim and  he turned around said  "I'm Sonny, make sure you shut your garage door I don't want to do it again."

It was a strange  way to start a great relationship.  The word Neighborly described Sonny.  He would look for our cat when he got out; he would help carry things into the house: and of course he would shut the garage when I left it open.   I can't remember ever doing anything for him, but he did plenty for me.

Dottie and Family, I never got to meet Sonny, but felt like I knew him because of hearing his sister Vickie Story talk about him.  I am a friend of hers at American General in Nashville.  I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Dad you will be missed by us all and were dearly loved.  I will never forget the things you taught me and the times we had together.  I will see you again in heaven.

Dottie, Scott & David, I pray that God eases the pain you all are feeling. Losing a loved one is so hard and the pain never leaves your heart. I hope that knowing he is no longer suffering brings a little comfort. He is with the Lord and also will live on in your hearts. Love you all ..

DEar chastain Family,
  it is never easy to say goodbye to those we love, but we can receive much needed comfort from God/s word the bible. In the book of Revelation 21:1-4 we are given the promise that very soon ALL  pain, suffering and even death will be no more. This is because according to 1 John 4:8 "God is love." I hope these few words will give you comfort in the up coming days and weeks as well as a hope for the future,

I want to share my condolences for the loss of your husband, friend and father.  Sonny was like a second father to me growing up in your household.  He always welcomed me and included me in all activities when possible.

The loss of a loved one is hard, the loss of a husband and father is really tough.  Having been there myself I can understand.  

Please know that you and your family is and has always been in my thoughts and prayers.

My Dad was a very simple man. He did what he wanted and enjoyed going on his boat. He may not have always been the most affectionate person but I know he loved his family very much and will be missed by all of us. He is in a better place now with his parents and will no longer have to suffer. I will always remember him for all the good things he did we will always have great memories of him when I was a child living at home and all the funnt things he did. I love you very much dad and we will be together again in heaven. Love always and forever. David
