Paula Haydee Bordabeheres, a cherished and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on December 2, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on April 2, 1933, in Jovellanos, Cuba, Paula was the eldest child of Amalia and Ramon Peñate. She learned the art of sewing and dressmaking at an early age, a skill that would become a lifelong passion and career.
Paula married Giraldo Bordabeheres on her birthday, April 2, 1954. In November of 1968, they moved to Chicago, Illinois, where they built a life together. Paula and Giraldo were blessed with two daughters, Cristina Fe and Giraida Barbara (Michael) Weinrich, and four grandchildren: Cristian, Natalie, Salvador, and Veronica.
Throughout her life, Paula was known for her hard-working, loyal, compassionate, and faithful nature. She continued her love for sewing, becoming a talented seamstress and dressmaker. Her creations, including beautiful dresses, Quinceñera dresses, and wedding gowns, were admired by many.
Paula's legacy as a beloved and devoted family member and friend will be remembered by all who knew her.
