Pedro Carrizales

March 3, 1961 – August 14, 2025

Pedro Carrizales entered this world in San Bartolo, Villa de Guadalupe, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and departed peacefully on August 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and resilience.

At just seventeen, guided by courage and devotion to his family, Pedro journeyed to the United States in search of the American Dream. From the grape fields of California to the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago, his work ethic and perseverance were a shining example of strength. It was in Chicago that Pedro met his beloved wife, Socorro, at their church youth group at Providence of God. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unshakable faith. With an open door to his house, Pedro welcomed family as they established their roots in Chicago, offering them comfort, guidance, and a place to belong.

Pedro lived a life rooted in God’s will. Always thankful to the Lord, he carried his faith through every trial, never wavering in trust. His devotion to family was boundless—working tirelessly, offering wise counsel, and reminding all to “soar like an eagle, be vigilant, and accomplish your goals.”

He will be remembered for his joyful spirit—his laughter, his playful jokes, his unforgettable whistle and chuckle, and the way he could fill a room with song, dance, and hospitality. Pedro was the heart of every gathering, the one who made everyone feel welcome, and the role model whose smile inspired hope.

Pedro is the cherished husband of Socorro Carrizales; beloved father of Christina Maria Carrizales Cortez (Martin Cortez) and Peter Alex Carrizales (Ashley Lacour); and treasured grandfather of Juliana Josephine Cortez, Ezekiel Martin Cortez, Emmanuel Gael Cortez, Isabel Rosalie Carrizales, with one more blessing expected on March 1, 2026.

He is survived by his siblings: Susana, Antonio, Perfecta, Vicente, Abundia, Felicitas, and Juan Carrizales. He is preceded in death by his parents †Juan Carrizales Llanas and †Ma. Josefa Cuello Hernandez, and by his siblings †Maria Isabel, †Antonia, †Candida, †Maximiliano, and †Eutiquio Carrizales. He is now joyfully reunited with them in God’s eternal light.

Pedro’s story is one of sacrifice, joy, and unshakable faith. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him—guiding, inspiring, and reminding us to live with gratitude and love.

May his soul rest in peace, embraced forever by God’s everlasting love.

En memoria de Pedro Carrizales

Día 3 de marzo del 1961 – día 14 de agosto del 2025

Pedro Carrizales vino al mundo en San Bartolo, Villa de Guadalupe, San Luis Potosí, México, y falleció pacíficamente el 14 de agosto de 2025, dejando tras de sí un legado de fe, amor y resiliencia.

Con solo diecisiete años, guiado por el deseo de alcanzar metas y la devoción por su familia, Pedro viajó a los Estados Unidos en busca del sueño americano. Desde los campos de uva de California hasta el barrio de Pilsen en Chicago, su ética de trabajo y perseverancia fueron un brillante ejemplo de fortaleza. Fue en Chicago donde Pedro conoció a su amada esposa, Socorro, en el grupo juvenil de su iglesia, Providencia de Dios. Juntos construyeron un hogar lleno de amor, risas y una fe inquebrantable. Con las puertas de su casa siempre abiertas, Pedro acogió a sus familiares cuando se establecieron en Chicago, ofreciéndoles consuelo, orientación y un hogar.

Pedro vivió una vida guiada la voluntad de Dios. Siempre agradecido al Señor, mantuvo su fe en todas las pruebas. Su devoción por la familia era ilimitada: trabajaba incansablemente, ofrecía sabios consejos y recordaba a todos que “volaran como águilas, estuvieran alerta y lograran sus metas.”

Será recordado por su espíritu alegre: su risa, sus bromas juguetonas, su inolvidable silbido y su risita, y la forma en que podía llenar el ambiente con canciones, bailes y hospitalidad. Pedro era el alma de todas las reuniones, el que hacía que todos se sintieran bienvenidos y el modelo a seguir cuya sonrisa inspiraba esperanza.

Pedro es el querido esposo de Socorro Carrizales; el amado padre de Christina María Carrizales Cortez (Martín Cortez) y Peter Alex Carrizales (Ashley Lacour); y el preciado abuelo de Juliana Josephine Cortez, Ezekiel Martín Cortez, Emmanuel Gael Cortez, Isabel Rosalie Carrizales, con una bendición más prevista para el 1 de marzo de 2026.

Le sobreviven sus hermanos: Susana, Antonio, Perfecta, Vicente, Abundia, Felicitas y Juan Carrizales. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres †Juan Carrizales Llanas y †Ma. Josefa Cuello Hernández, y sus hermanos †María Isabel, †Antonia, †Cándida, †Maximiliano y †Eutiquio Carrizales. Ahora se ha reunido con ellos en la luz eterna de Dios.

La historia de Pedro es una historia de sacrificio, alegría y fe inquebrantable. Su recuerdo perdurará en los corazones de todos los que lo conocieron, guiándonos, inspirándonos y recordándonos que debemos vivir con gratitud y amor.

Que su alma descanse en paz, abrazada para siempre por el amor eterno de Dios.
