Phillip LaPalio, Jr. (Phil), a man whose life was characterized by his caring and generous nature, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on September 12th, 2023. His departure leaves a void in our family, as well as in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Born in Chicago on October 8, 1943, he possessed an innate talent for classical music and thus began a lifelong devotion to music and art, playing organ for several area churches over the years. Phil also had an appreciation for old movies and Bridge, teaching and directing games as a Silver Life Master.
Phil touched the lives of many and had a smile that could light up the room. He is survived by his sister Charlotte, his brothers Lawrence and Steven, many nieces and nephews (who affectionately knew him as “Uncle Snoopy”), treasured friend, Kevin Litz and a host of devoted friends and students who will continue to carry his legacy forward. He is preceded in death by his brother Salvatore, father Philip Sr., and mother Lillian.
Funeral services will be private, at his request, and a celebration of life will be held at a future date. Phil will be laid to rest at Rosehill Cemetery.
