I am late in discovering the passing of Becca, nearly a year ago, but would like to convey my sadness to her loved ones and add wishes for strength for the journey, because she 
will be missed forever. Wishes for peace and healing to all who loved her, and may she be in a place of perfect health, beauty and wellness restored.

I know it's late, but I just discovered this page and have to say something. First, my dear brave Becca, you left us far too soon, guess you're so good god took you before we were finished with you. Words will never be able to express just how much you positively affected so many suffering with GI disorders, you were such an inspiration to me, and to so many. Through your remarkable strength and courage, you helped me realize that it's not the end of the world, that you can cope with no intestines. Having have colon cancer, a ruptured colon, been dead for two minutes, and four intestinal diversions over 7 surgeries, I could relate to you so much. You made me laugh when I wanted to cry, and gave me the strength to carry on when I felt like giving up. And even though I never had the privilege of meeting you in person, you've touched my heart, and will always be loved. The Lord is so lucky to have you, selfish as it may sound, I want you back! I bet you don't even realize just how many lives you've touched, may you rest in peace my sweet angle, until I get there, after that, all bets are off! 

  Secondly, to Becca's family, no words can express my sympathy. She was indeed an angle when with us, she's now one in heaven, my heart truly aches for your tragic loss, but, take it from someone who has suffered almost as much as Becca, there's more to life then this mortal world. No disrespect intended at all, and this may sound insane, but, when my colon first ruptured in 1990, I died for 2 minutes on the OR table. Those were the most defining minutes of my life. A flash of light, and I was in front of my grandpa who died years before. I was enveloped with a feeling of peace, love, and pure joy. The agonizing pain I'd been in for so many months was suddenly gone, and I was literally surrounded by love and every wonderful emotion you can imagine. I'll never forget Grandpa telling me it wasn't my time, that I had to go back. I didn't want to go knowing just how much pain and suffering I faced. Then, I awoke in the ICU wishing I could have stayed. That experience completely redefined my values on life, I know life goes on, I know that a better place awaits us, that brings me so much comfort and joy when ever I loose a loved one, I pray it does you as well. My most deepest sympathies, but remember, she's not really gone, only relocated until such time we get to see her again.

I only knew Becca by her words. I always checked online for updates bc I admired her strength and courage. I'm very sad she has passes but know she is in a better place where she can shine. My condolences to Beccas family and cute little doggy.

Becca- I think you would be happy to know you are the most FUNKtastic chica I have ever met, and I know a lot of funktastic chicas.  In some ways it was good- I learned how to crochet from you and now I can make amazing Xmas gifts; if I needed something to do on a Friday night I could hang out with Becca and be assured we will do something like go see a Balkan Dance band complete with euphonium that turns into a street rage... instead of just drinking at a bar.  But in some ways you set the bar so high, girl- how can I dress up for Halloween now without thinking, "WWBD?"  And what Becca would do would have a theatrical-caliber costume complete with makeup and accessories.  Or, I can't just travel to a foreign country, I also have to be filming a documentary about that country at the same time.  Although I cannot talk to you directly about why original is better than normal and it's those NORMAL people who are crazy, I still know which people would get the "meh" from Becca if I were to talk to you about it.  Love you so much, thank you for all the color and spice and courage.

Becca, it wasn't until you were no longer here that I realized just how much your friendship changed my life. Every time I dance samba, make mac n' cheese, or wear the color blue, I will always think of you. I will miss you every day of my life.

To the Babcock family: May God surround you with His comfort and love during this difficult time. May His strength become your strength! Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted ( Matthew 5:4) God Bless!

 Mary, Stuart, David,   I am so sorry I was not able to attend the service or memorial for Rebecca, But thanks to the beautiful written blogs and post, I have still been able to feel part of it. I awoke @ 03: 30 am  Sat I woke thinking about Dave and Bec  I wanted to write a few lines to Bec  , she was so on my mind, I just had such a feeling  Mary,I dont know what time she let go .but I just felt such a pull on Sat am   I was blessed to have Bec and your kids in my life for those short years  when they were young, Mary you were so kind and generous to share Bec with me . I loved her so much.  For a little while I got to pretend she was mine, I always wanted a Daughter and I never loved another as I had her, I only wished I got to know her as a young woman ,and I didnt let life take me away from her ,but thanks to the internet and facebook we were able to reconnect again and I was so happy to see her at the  fundraiser last June and she seemed happy when I gave her the pics and she was showing them off . I am so sorry for your loss and the pain you have to feel.  May you find comfort and healing love in her words and memories , and your family God Bless You all.

It was truly a pleasure knowing Becca. We will always remember the fun times we shared with her. To the Babcock family we pray you find solace during this difficult time.

to all of rebeccas family my deepest sorrow and sympathies. jay and i knew rebecca from when she was just a little girl. as she grew i saw her grow into a warm loving caring person. she fought that horrible cancer with dignity grace and a love of life. she is in her daddys arms now and now longer suffering. rip in peace becca.  mary a very special note for you. you were so very wonderful with becca. i too lost a child to cancer and know the heartache and helplessness you felt and the immense pain you are feeling now. may god bless you.   rip rebecca

You were my first friend at Pershing  from the day I entered into that school you always held a special place in my heart.You were loyal, caring and oh so hilarious.  I am so thankful to have met you. You are truly a blessing to me and you've taught me so much. I will carry your spirit forever and ever. To Becca's family and friends - Her courage, strength and wit will continue to be the inspiration for the multitude of lives that crossed her path. There have been many who knew her only through her electronic blogs and posts, yet were so moved by her perseverance. I was there with you, watching the birth of Bec at your home while Dave was video taping the whole thing and celebrating her birth with a bbq in the yard to follow.  I even had to watch that video in reverse, which Dave thought was so hilarious! I wasn't there with you through this horrific ordeal you had to deal with for the past few years, but I was there through Dave's.  I know how compassionate you were then and I know you gave 100% + of yourself to make this the easiest you could for Bec. I know how dedicated you were to Bec and how much love you have for her and I commend you.
I was watching Que Viva Saturday eve and there were performers from Brazil competing for a spot in the show.  They were copiera dancers (not sure of the spelling) and I thought of Bec. April told me Bec was in a group that performed a combination of martial arts and dance. I thought to myself, I wonder how Bec is doing? Little did I know, Bec danced her way to the other side that same evening. I see it as a sign. And then again last night an alarm clock went off without being set. Another sign! Then this evening while mowing the grass, a tulip in the middle of the yard (no tulips planted)appeared.  The color was pink-which represents Mother's love and it had green edges, almost as hands supporting the flower. Green represents Father's love.  So, I believe Dave is on the other side dancing with Bec, supporting her through her new journey and he is here to support you spiritually through your next journey. I remeber all the weird things that happened when Dave died, all signs and I'm sure he is reminding us that it is just a physical body, but our spiritual body lives on and he is here to help your family heal through this difficult time.
To you Stuart and David,
You were young and knew little about life at that time of your father's passing, but I know you will be here to help and support your mother through this most difficult time of her life.
To all of you and your family, 
May God  shine his light and assign special angels to be around you at this time of grief.

Her dear family knew what a loving, smart as a whip, quick twisted wit, warrior spirit and beautiful girl (inside and out) that she was. What I knew as her friend was that she just wanted to find a cure for colon cancer. Her passing during Colon Cancer Awareness month will not be in vain.  I firmly believe that you are a warrior cancer angel and will continue to fight tooth and nail from heaven on your quest for awareness and a cure. Becca, thank you for teaching me to live with grace. Love never fails. You will be forever loved and missed. Janice and Bill, Teddy and Oscar (now you'll get to see his silly antics from above!)
