Tim dear,

I was so sad to hear of Rich's passing. I know this is a difficult time for you, but please don't hesitate to call any time you need. Take it one day at a time, some days will be good, some won't. But it will get better, this I know. Never pass up a chance to walk in the sun, laugh or cry, reflect and enjoy your warm memories of the wonderful life you shared.

All my love,
Marsha

Penny and I are so sorry for your and the Communities loss. We were lucky to be there from the beginning. What a trip from the first years to the present day Gay Pride Parade.
You did a great job Year after year. The two of you gave us all a big "Voice" in the world.
Tim we are so sorry for your loss.

I remember for several years running into Richard and Tim at Chalet for their Christmas sponsorship event. We would say hi and talk about how wonderful the parade was and get excited for the next years parade. All of us in Chicago were so very blessed to have such a beautiful person make life in the LGBTQ community a better place to live! I know you will be there to celebrated our 2020 parade and in my heart I know I will be thinking of you πŸŒˆβ€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ! REST now our LGBTQ angel πŸ˜‡...

Shocked and saddened to learn of Richard's passing. Communicated with him for the last 18 years arranging WGN-TV's participation in the Pride Parade... always professional and accommodating. Heartfelt condolences to Richard's loved ones and may his legacy live on in everyone that benefited from his courage and devotion to the community.

Richard - - so many memories. Sunday School, church and school. I remember sitting next to Rich in Sunday School and often walking passed his house only to meet up and walk to school together. We traveled different paths but in the past years we emailed and it was wonderful to reconnect. Richard - a man of compassion and kindness, thoughtfulness and love, a seeker for justice and a man with a true heart. Rest in Peace my friend. Gentle thoughts and prayers for Tim and all family members.

Rich and I were friends since grade school. We went to St. Philppus Church together. Our Mom's were friends as well. We remained friends even though we did not see each other a lot. We reconnected when it was time for our 50th Class Reunion. Some of us got together for a weekend to revisit our old neighborhood, share pictures and catch up on our lives. I was fortunate to get to know Tim and see how much Rich and Tim meant to each other. They even came up to our home in Wisconsin. Glad we were able to spend some time together again. I know that Rich was loved by Tim and his family and friends and will be missed. Love you Rich!
It is sad to know that you are gone but know that you are in a wonderful place and you get to see your Mom again. She will be there with open arms to greet you.
Love,
Carol(Kostecki) Cole

Richard was a dear friend! We attended school together from kindergarten through the end of high school. Every Christmas I received a personal hand written letter from him. Rich was such an encouraging and committed friend and in recent years we had some wonderful get togethers with our Longfellow friends. Prayers for Tim and the family! I love you Rich and am so thankful you were my friend! Xo

Richard is my childhood and life life long friend. A beloved friend. Attended church, Sunday School, kindergarten, grammar school and high school with Richard. We had our tonsils out at the same time, kissed in kindergarten and traded lunches in high school. I always ended up with the better lunch. Richard often ended up with an oily sardine sandwich. I am saddened by his passing but honor his life of compassion and purpose. I am thankful to have shared time with both he and Tim at 2 recent reunions. He faced adversity with courage and conviction. Sending his family and friends my deepest sympathy. Please remember Richard β€˜s special essence. Love you Richard. ❀️ RIP😒
