Rizalina Eugenio Rualo

Rizalina Eugenio Rualo, aged 82, passed away peacefully on 21 January 2025 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born 19 June 1942 to parents Trinidad Eugenio and Frederico Cabayan Eugenio and immigrated to the United States for new opportunities. She met her husband, Dennis Rualo, through friends living in Chicago and were married on 19 June 1976. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Rualo; siblings, Rolly and Thelma; sons, Gary (Christina) and Jonathon; granddaughters, Genevieve and Cathlina; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins..

Rizalina was a welcoming, kind and gentle soul who always took care of everyone around her. She was a loving wife to her husband, devoted mother to her two sons, and beloved grandmother to her two granddaughters. As a nutritionist she worked in Chicago Public Schools and Weiss Memorial Hospital as a lunchroom manager providing meals to school children, hospital staff and patients alike. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends and loved baking for her granddaughters. She loved to garden and took pride in growing a variety of vegetables and flowers in her garden, including her favorite flower, azaleas. She sought out opportunities to travel throughout the United States, Europe and Asia with her friends and family. She was a devout Roman Catholic member of Saint Benedict Parish in Chicago where she found community for her family.

She will always be remembered as a purpose-driven, caring and loving person.

Although she has now moved on to her next station in life, she will not be forgotten.

A visitation for Rizalina will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 North Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625. A Funeral Mass will occur Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Benedict Catholic Church, 2215 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60618. A graveside service will occur Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714.
