Dear Zallo

It’s been three years! I can’t believe it. I know with all my heart that you are watching over us. I don’t have to tell you how proud you would be if you were here with our Grandkids, I know you are with them every minute of every day. You hear them tell funny stories about what you said and did with them when they were little. You hear Karen and Val talk about what a good Dad you were to them and the reasons why they say that to me. You also know how your sisters pray for you and the stories I Cherish about your childhood. I never get tired of hearing them. And you also know how I miss you still, I miss your touch, I miss you telling me to SLOW DOWN, shut the cabinet door, you have a loaf of bread under each arm and your still complaining 🤣 keep me in your prayers until we meet again😍 your Wiffy

Hi my favorite brother! Three years have passed but I still think about the good man you were..a good husband, father and grandfather. You were a very hard worker and never complained about your health issues. You told us to be grateful that we have eyes, arms and legs because you witnessed fellow soldiers who lost them. I love you. Rest in Peace 🙂😘

Hi Gar.....two years have passed since we celebrated your life in pictures and memories. We still talk about you and what a great guy you were...hard working, honest, down to earth, never complained about your problems or pain, helpful, very brave, patriotic, a true American. We miss you. We love you.

My dear “Zallo” I miss you every moment of every day, and I pray every morning that you watch over me, especially when I’m driving and doing stuff around the house. When I bump my head on a open cabinet door, I hear your voice, when I’m multitasking, I hear you say SLOW DOWN.  I know with all my heart that you are looking down on us, especially on Nick, Kati and Frankie. The girls talk about times they experienced a feeling of your presence, and I do as well. Please don’t forget about us, I know you are having a wonderful time up there with your brothers, mom and dad, friends, guys from work and army buddies (keep your hands off you know who) I love you, my one and only😍

To my  sweet and wonderful brother, Gary....it's your first anniversary and want to tell you that you are missed. You were a great brother and I always thought of you as a "straight arrow".  I love you and miss seeing you and reminiscing about our childhood experiences.

My dearest brother, "Zermie"..
I can't believe you are gone. We were always close growing up...sharing good and hard times. I admired you for your complete honesty and common sense.  You were a very hard worker and did some very dirty work in the "projects". You also had a crazy sense of humor..you would scare your nieces and nephews in Mom's basement, pretending you were the Mummy or some other scary character! I think it was hilarious, but they didn't!! You were a good husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. You were a true patriot, very brave and served admirably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Thank you for your service to our country and for preserving our freedoms. I miss you, hope to see you in Heaven, and I love you. Sharon

It was 1966  and the Viet Nam war was still going on. They started to draft all the age eligible guys from the neighborhood. The group that hung out together was Bob Z,  Mitch S, Ken M, John P, Lenny B and  Al C. It was a working class neighborhood in Bucktown. The guys played basketball at Pulaski School and hung out at Holstein Park.  Bob's wife , Diane and I were 16 and working a Bush Cleaners on Milwaukee Ave. I asked Diane if she would be wiling to write to a GI.  Bob came home in 1968; he came over the day that my brother Mitch's belongings came home from Viet Nam. Ken and I schemed to get Diane over to actually meet Bob in person.  So glad they had 50+ years and a beautiful family together. Bob will always be my "other" brother.  He was kind and strong and loved his family above all. May he rest in the arms of the angels. 

Loving , always there when our Mother need something done, he could always be depended upon. Quiet and humble , never got into any trouble! Was loved by all the family! Never complained while he went through 4 yrs. Of health problems, surgeries and cancer treatments. We are proud of him and will miss him terribly! ✝️We will always love you dear brother.
