Ronald James Kogol

Ronald James Kogol, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026. Born June 21, 1946, Ronald was a longtime resident of Chicago, Illinois. After this introduction, Ronald will be lovingly remembered as Ron.

Ron served in the United States Navy and later worked for Pitney Bowes. He was an avid White Sox fan and enjoyed trains as a favorite pastime.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Catherine. He is also lovingly remembered by his son, Michael, and granddaughter, Quinn.

Ron is further survived by his brother, Michael; his sister, Pauline Roach; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Paul.

Also surviving are his in-laws: brother-in-law Thomas Kiolbassa; brother-in-law William Kiolbassa; brother-in-law James Kiolbassa; sister-in-law Elizabeth Kiolbassa; and sister-in-law Maria Kiolbassa. He was preceded in death by brother-in-law Timothy Kiolbassa. Ron is also fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646, on April 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Prayers at 7:15pm.
