Ruth Hermina Arend

Ruth was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 1st, 1934. She graduated from high school and went on to have a fulfilling career as a sales clerk, working at various companies over the years.

On January 19th, 1957, Ruth married the love of her life, Peter A. Arend. Together they built a beautiful family and shared a lifetime of memories.

Ruth was passionate about spending time with her family, creating ceramics, and enjoying plays at the theater. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who brought joy and warmth to those around her.

She is survived by her children: Gale Bicek (Paul Bicek) and Michael Arend; her grandchildren: Erin, Kristin, Stephen, Brian, Ashley, and Adrienne; and her great-grandchildren: Ryan, Brooks, Aidan, Connor, Kyleigh, Lily, Ben, Mia, Luke, Charlotte, and Oliviana. She is also survived by her brother, Henry Schaaf (Gay Schaaf).

Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 3 PM on Sunday, June 8th, 2025, with a prayer service at 2 PM at Malec and Sons Funeral Home, 6000 n Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646.

Ruth’s memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
