The first time I had a conversation with Mr. Santiago, was when I was a teacher in the FOCUS Program at Elena Christian JHS back in 1983. He was concerned about the students in alternative education and whether they were getting what they needed. It was a heated discussion that ended up with us agreeing that we were both passionate about the education of our students. I will always remember our conversation and will always appreciate him for speaking his truth. Rest in eternal peace Mr. Santiago.
