Sheila was born to John and Florence Roche, of Chicago, Illinois, on August 7, 1949. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1971 with a degree in journalism and went on to a career in public relations. She spent years engaged in hobbies she loved, like photography, Gaelic music, and travel around the world.
Sheila is preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence Roche, and her nephew Thomas Bauer. She is survived by her sister Mary Bauer, her brother-in-law Leo Bauer, her nieces Sheila Bauer-Gatsos (John) and Laura Bauer, her niece-in-law Kelly Bauer, and her 10 great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much. She will be missed by the family and friends she leaves behind.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 North Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 am. Interment at St. Boniface Cemetery in Chicago will be private.
