

Sophie was born in Poland. During WWII, she was deported with her mother and siblings to Siberia, she then lived in Iran and Lebanon in a refugee camp. From there they moved to England, where she met and married her loving husband. In 1955, they immigrated to Chicago, IL.
Preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Florian.
Survived by beloved children Harriet (Michael) Russell, Zygmunt (Iris) Skrzypczak, George (Donna) Skrzypczak, Christine (Richard) Mizera, Mark (Michalene) Skrzypczak.
Beloved grandmother (Babcia) of Adam (Elena) Russell, Matthew (Melissa) Russell, David (Leigh) Russell, Rebeca Skrzypczak, Olivia Skrzypczak, Ethan Skrzypczak, Paula Skrzypczak, Karyn (Matthew) Victor, Laura (Vaughn) Drozd, Andrew (Jordan) Mizera, Stephen (Mary Margaret) Mizera, Nicholas (Colleen) Mizera, Michael (Maria) Skrzypczak, Madeline Skrzypczak, Joseph Skrzypczak, and Daniel Skrzypczak.

Visitation will be held at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646, US, on March 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Family and friends will meet at St Priscilla Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial, 6949 W Addison St, Chicago, IL 60634, US, on March 10, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A Committal Service will follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714, US, on March 10, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
