Susan Allison

Susan Allison, 44, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on October 18, 2013. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she graduated from King George V School, Hong Kong; Georgetown University (School of Foreign Service BS '90); and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (MBA '02). Susan was a loving and caring individual who made friends throughout her wide-ranging travels. She was an accomplished linguist, with a keen intellect and a magnificent wit. Her Chinese language abilities, in particular, stood her in good stead with her work in China, where she held the post of Deputy Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Beijing. Susan faced the challenge of her illness with great courage, grace and humour. She is survived by her loving husband, William L. Habenicht; her parents, Drs. Don and Darling Allison; her sister, Carol Allison-Musetti; and her brother-in-law, Robert Musetti. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2013 until time of service, 11 a.m. at the Church of the Ascension, 1133 N. La Salle Drive, Chicago, IL. Interment Rosehill Cemetery.
