I have more memories with you in them than I could possibly list. Thank you for decades of being my Uncle, for cooking for us at family gatherings, for being the one that put on the fireworks show at Whittier every year, for taking us to the pool countless days over the summer, for supporting us, for being a friend to everyone you met, for always offering me a cold beer when I showed up, for loving me like only you did. I'll miss you terribly and I pray one day we'll meet again. I love you!

Dear Super Mamu,

If I had to choose one word to describe you, it would defined be “super”. You were super in every way I can imagine. Thank you for marrying the nicest American I’ve ever known and introducing us to American culture and all of its many glories and holidays. Thank you for bringing Ranetta Aunty and Sabri into my life. I don’t think I can imagine 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas without you. You were truly the life of the party, kids and adults loved you alike.
You loved teasing me until I was mad, and I loved doing it right back. I will especially miss our long arguments that would go on for hours until everyone except for you and me we’re left (still arguing). You had a big heart, a kind smile, and your door was always open for family and friends. I don’t have words to describe how much I’ll miss you but I know you are truly in a much better place where we will all meet once again. Thank you for being super.

Love you and miss you forever,
Your “Alinaa Bengalan” <3

Uncle Yousuf,

Where do I even start?!?? I can’t recall a childhood memory without you! Although not blood, you chose me as a niece! Your unconditional love and door always open has helped mold me into the parent I am today. The 4th of July will never be the same now that you’re gone.....light up the sky with Tariq this year and give 2020 a reason to shine! Love you and miss you Uncle Yousuf 💔
