My Nani taught me that women are meant to be “strong like bull” AND beautiful.  My Nani told me not to sweat the small stuff and it’s all small stuff, even before that book came to print.  My Nani taught me how to find edible, wild mushrooms in the fields by Lake Michigan.  I’ll always have worms for a fishing pole because my Nani wouldn’t let me be squeamish when it was dark and late and we had to find bait for the next morning’s fishing trip.  But first we went to church.  My Nani taught me how to warm my husband’s hands while driving :)  My Nani was a beautiful, playful, irresistible flirt!  My Nani taught me how to curse out those “fletchin sockknobbers” gracefully.  My Nani taught me how to curl my hair with bobby pins and water. My Nani says rough feet are OK. My Nani taught me how to dance the polka.  She made the cutest clicking sound when she danced :) My Nani taught me how to peel aloe leaves in her yard for my boo boos.  Nani’s roses have the best smell!  Sledding at Horner Park, the swings by the lake, Lincoln Park Zoo and lagoon, ping pong, orange methyolate, chochkies, feeding the birds and squirrels but not the dirty pigeons, PUMPKIN CAKE, chicken noodle soup, gwumkies, kalachkies, hard boiled eggs in spaghetti sauce, cheesecake, breakfast sausage and cabbage, potato salad, chicken feet, babalouchies, stuffed artichokes, baked apples, blockie blocks, percolated coffee and 2 pieces of chocolate licorice from the drawer.  I love you Nani.  Thank you for your service on Earth.  Let’s find each other next time too!

Dear Zagone Family,

Aunt Tillie told me something once at my Dad's house (Uncle Tony) about how she lives her life to the fullest. 

1st- it's no secret that she loved her family; especially when it came time for making great food dishes and unbelievable baked goods; 
2nd -she lived and enjoyed every day and every way according to how she wanted to do things, and 
3rd- she could care less what other's would think about what she could do or not do, after all she was old enough to do what she wanted to do. 

The lady knew how to enjoy life, all the way to the very end of her 90 years on earth.

Aunt Tillie you will always be 1 of a kind, which in my game -always beats 3 of a kind. We will miss you at the poker games, but know that I will always have a special game for you in my heart.

We will miss Aunt Tillie for her wonderful smile, her great sense of humor and her abundant energy.  She was always on the go!  We will truly miss her here, and I can just imagine the warm welcome she received in heaven from Uncle Phil and all her relatives and friends up there. Aunt Tillie will be missed and always remembered for her Kunz strength, wit, and sense of humor. She lived her life to the fullest.  As we celebrate her well-lived 90 years of life, she will always live in my heart and prayers...and Auntie, "FIVES are Wild".
