Wanda Podgorski

Wanda Podgorski, wife of the late Roman Podgorski, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, at the age of 70. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother whose strength and warmth touched everyone who knew her. She is fondly remembered for her brutal honesty, big heart, and warm smile.

Wanda worked for many years in the manufacturing sector as a machine operator and quality control inspector, where she was known for her diligence and strong work ethic. Outside of work, she took great joy in simple pleasures, especially gardening, cooking, and going mushroom picking. Those closest to her will always remember her for her brutal honesty, her big heart, and her amazing smile

Wanda is lovingly remembered by her three sons: Daniel, her oldest son; Darek, her middle son; and David, her youngest son. She was a proud grandmother to Dominic and step-grandmother to Danny. She is also survived by her sisters, Krystyna Kus and Mieczysława Małaczek, and joins in eternal rest with her brothers Andrzej Krengiel and Sławomir Krengiel, who passed before her.

A visitation will be held at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, located at 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646, on December 9, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Constance Catholic Church, 5843 W Strong St, Chicago, IL 60630, on December 10, 2025, starting at 9:00 am.
