In Loving Memory of Wendy Simmons, a cherished mother of three and beloved wife, has left us, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, love, and unwavering protection. Wendy was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, lived abroad (Greece late 70’s/early 80’s), and returned to her birthplace, Chicago, Illinois, in 1982 until the day of her death. With heavy hearts, we remember the life and legacy of Wendy, a remarkable soul who brought joy and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Wendy graced the world with her melodious voice, capturing hearts as a gifted singer. Her musical talents shone brightly, and on occasion during her years as a young woman, she shared the stage with her father. Her performances were not just a display of talent, but a heartfelt expression of her passion for music, particularly cabaret. In 1991, tragedy struck Wendy's life as she experienced the heart-wrenching loss of her son in a tragic accident. Since that dark day, Wendy carried a burden of grief that no mother should ever bear. Yet, through the shadows, she remained an embodiment of strength and courage. Wendy touched the lives of all who knew her. She was kind and caring woman. Her unwavering determination and sharp intellect were evident in every facet of her life, particularly in her dedicated service to patients as a Candy Striper and to customers as a Customer Service Representative. With a sense of pride, she poured her heart into her work as a professional and as a homemaker, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Wendy held a special place in her heart for culinary arts, reading, and writing. Her fashionable and beautiful elegance is timeless. Rest in peace, Wendy. May she no longer suffer from her pain related to the loss of a child, to the strain of sight, and to the relentless pull of gravity on her delicate body. May her soul finally find the peace she deserves. Your absence will be deeply felt, and your memory will forever live on in our hearts.
