Mr. Petersen,

Thank you!

Growing up I got to know you by being friends with Dave. I had very few decent male role models in my life and you were one of them. I have carried the example of kindness, decency and honesty you gave me through my life and am eternally grateful for it. I am a better man for having known you.

The measure of a man is in the memory he leaves behind and you from what I read here were a giant.

I offer my love and condolences to all who loved you.

I have some of my best memories with Billy. He used to come over to our house almost every Sunday to visit my dad, his uncle Henry. I looked forward to it do much. He was so much fun. In the summer all of us would go swimming in our pool! In the winter we would watch football. So many years of every Sunday. I would miss him when he wasn't around. He was quiet, but he was fun. I don't really remember all the years I got to see him. Maybe my early teens to late teens. I wish I would have kept in touch. He was such a wonderful guy! From your video it looks like he had a rich, full life. I'm so happy for him. I cried when I watched it. I thought of him often. I'm sure he's with my dad and Uncle Fred. Laura and David I'm sure you don't remember me, but your dad was very special. Loved him so much!

My sincere sympathies go out to the family. I have so many memories of Bill from holiday celebrations to summer barbeques and playing bocce ball in the back yard. Bill will always live in my memory as a kind and gentle man with a quiet sense of humor. May you all find comfort in your beautiful memories of him and strength in the love of family and friends

So very sad to hear of your dad's passing. Memories come rushing back of holidays spent at my parents house with Billy and his mom, my dad's sister
I pray that he rest in the arms of our Lord and you are comforted by HIS eternal grace and love

You will be missed Billy! You were a kind and loving man like my dad (Uncle Henry). I always will remember you as a young, fit man doing handstands on the outside of our pool in the summer and then pushing off and flipping into the pool. I will miss those fun family times with you and Laura and David. I will cherish them always! Rest in heavenly peace and say “Hi” to everyone for me! Love you Billy!
