Yasmin Torres passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. She was 17.
Yasmin was born on April 18, 2003, in Chicago, Illinois. She lived in the same home in Lincoln Square her whole life. Yasmin loved music and danced every chance she got.
Yasmin attended Budlong Elementary School, from which her parents have received thoughtful comments from her friends. Even after graduation, she kept in touch with her elementary school friends. They all describe her as a good friend, funny, always smiling, and always willing to listen. She continued with the same caring attitude with her friends at Von Steuben High School. She has so many teachers and friends who continue to appreciate her. Yasmin was always willing to listen and help her friends, even if they did not always listen to what she said. Some of these friends will be present at the funeral.
Yasmin’s parents instilled in her the importance of family. Yasmin loved her family and at a young age, she had a gift for lighting up a room with her laugh. She was kind-hearted and made it her mission to make sure everyone smiled.
Yasmin is survived by her parents, Salvador and Sylvia.
