

Mrs. Fujiwara was born Sept. 25, 1939 in Tokyo. She had married the now-deceased Harvard A. Fujiwara in June 1965.
Yukiko Fujiwara had graduated from Akasaka High School, Tokyo, in 1958 and in 1983 received a secretarial certificate from Joliet Junior College's Bolingbrook campus.
Fujiwara worked as a receptionist at the Consulate General of Japan, Chicago, from 1982 to 2005. Upon retirement, she volunteered at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Fujiwara is survived by son Don (Caroline) Fujiwara; grandchildren, Danaan, Arielle (Kushal) and Pfilip; great-granddaughter Asha; sister Yumiko (Kazuo) and brother Yukishige (Mariko).
She is preceded in death by father Shoichi Miyamae and mother Masako.
Service will be held at noon, Sunday, Sept. 10 in Devon Church, 1630 W. Devon Ave., Chicago, Ill.
