

Zofia Malecka passed away peacefully on August 10th at the age of 82. She is survived by her loving husband Stanislaw of 63 years. She was born in Poland in 1943 and immigrated to the United States in 1963. She truly enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, crossword puzzles, growing and maintaining her flower garden and chasing her grandkids over the years. She liked to make crystal ornaments and small down pillows. She always let her grandkids pick the design of the pillowcase they wanted and she would sew it for them. She is best remembered for her traditional Polish cooking, baking, special Sunday dinners, kindness, generosity, patience, nurturing spirit, words of wisdom and unconditional love. She learned how to read and write English as a second language at a learning center while working full time and taking care of a household. Zofia’s life was a testament to her Catholic values, demonstrating kindness and compassion.
Lovingly remembered by her husband Stanislaw Malecki, Sons Bogi, Chris and Alexis Homich, Wesley and Kim (nee Touhy) Mark and Eva (nee Malacat). She was preceded in death by her daughter Marysia. Grandchildren: Allison, Nicholas, Isis, Jackson, Christopher, and Marc. Numerous nephews, nieces and great nephews and great nieces.
The visitation for Zofia will be on Tuesday August 19th at Malec and Sons 6000 N Milwaukee from 3-8. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 20th at St. Constance 5843 W Strong St Chicago, IL 60630 at 10:00 am followed by interment at Maryhill Cemetery 8600 N Milwaukee Niles, IL 60714.
