Barbara Jean Smith Conville, born August 16, 1946, passed away May 20, 2022, after a brief but difficult illness. She was a life-long resident of Childersburg, AL, where she was an active member of the community for many years. She loved cruising, casinos, spending time at Lake Martin, cheering for the Auburn Tigers, and being with her friends and family.
A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her son, Bryon Conville (Alison); daughter, Tara Conville Burdick (Robby); granddaughter, Paris Burdick; grandsons, Daniel Conville and Michael Conville; brother, Jimmy Smith (Kathleen); nieces, Katie Smith Robinson (Vincent) and Sarah Smith Burkhead (Dustin); great nieces, Abby Grace Robinson, Payton Robinson, and Lily Burkhead; and great nephew, Brayden Burkhead. She was preceded in death by her parents, James W. “Bugle” Smith and Billie Paris Smith and her husband, W.H. “Buck” Conville.
Per her wishes, a private memorial for family will be held at a later date; however, the family invites visitors to pay their respects from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, May 24, at Curtis and Son’s Childersburg Chapel. In lieu of flowers, per her wishes, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
