Mr. John Douglas (Bub) Kidd

John D. Kidd (Bub), age 81, of Harpersville passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Bub, a member of First Baptist Church of Harpersville, was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired as a rural letter carrier in Harpersville after 30 years of service. Bub was a founding member of Coosa Valley Academy. He had a love for farming. He is survived by Bernice Smith Kidd, his beloved wife of 59 years: his daughters, Sandra Wood (Jimmy) of Birmingham and Sheila Rich (Steve) of Harpersville: grandchildren Kelcei Chamberlain (Andrew), Farrah Mote (Jodie), Johnny Green, Jordan, Kaylan and Baylee Rich: great grandchild John Hudson Mote: sister Virginia Berger of Cullman. Bub was preceded in death by Clarence and Lois Kidd. Visitation will be Thursday, May 13 at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church Harpersville. Funeral services will be held May 14 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Harpersville with burial at Harpersville Cemetery. Brothers Phillip McMillan, Allan Murphy and William Rayfield will be officiating . Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Harpersville or Coosa Valley Academy. Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel will direct services.
