Funeral service for Joyce Brewer Taylor, 77, will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2:00pm at Curtis & Son Childersburg Chapel. Billy Atkinson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. She passed away December 29, 2015 at her residence. Preceded in death by husbands, Jessie Seymore Brewer and Richard Taylor; sister, Ernestine Geyer. She was a retired teacher after more than 40 years spending the majority of her teaching years at Childersburg High School and then Central Alabama Community College. She earned her master's degree from the University of Montevallo. She was a prominent leader with the Alabama Education Association and was known for her sense of humor, generous nature and love of education and will be missed by all. She is survived by her sons, Christopher Scott Brewer, Bryan Willis Brewer; grandchildren, Jackson, Lilly, Jack, Jesse; brother, Robert Wayne Willis. Pallbearers will be Billy Atkinson, Jr., David Tinsley, Troy Jeffcoat, Bart Brashear, Baine Brashear, Jeff Duvall. Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the services.
