Lena C. Milam, age 87, of Childersburg, passed away January 11, 2017 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her husband: William B. Milam and son: Tommy Milam. She is survived by two sons: William Buren Milam Jr. “Slim” (Darnell) and James Harold Milam “Jimmy”, two daughters: Barbara Ann Milam Johnson (Mike) and Judith Lynn Milam Bearden “Judy” seven grandchildren, eleven Great Grandchildren, and one Great Great Grandchild. Funeral services will be Saturday January 14, 2017 at 2pm, with a visitation from 12:30 until the service. Burial will be in Childersburg Cemetery. She loved her family and church. After working 41 years for Avondale Mills, she earned her G.E.D. and started a new career as a nurse’s assistant. She authored several books and was an established artist. She enjoyed traveling with her family and was active well into her 80s. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her. Curtis and Son Childersburg chapel to direct.
