Funeral services for Nellie “Boots” Smith Dobbs, age 87 of Childersburg, will be Monday, March 22, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. She passed away March 19, 2021 at her residence. Nellie is survived by her daughter, Vicki Southern (Leonard); son, Gary Phillip Dobbs (Belinda); bonus daughter, Kaye Carpenter; brother, Billy Ray Smith; grandchildren, Gary Dobbs, Jr. (Melanie), Dr. Shannon Dobbs (Joshua Parker); Dr. Brian Southern (Dr. Laure Southern), Aaron Southern (Allison), Amy Preston (James), Emily Southern; great-grandchildren, Justin Floyd, Matthew Floyd, Trenton Floyd, Brayden Williams, Raley Curtis, Pyper Gray, Jackman Parker, Yasmina Southern, Ramzy Southern, Connor Hinkel, Abby Hinkel, Lillian Southern, Daniel Southern; great-great-grandchildren, Paisley Burch, Haze Griffith, Layken Floyd, Denver Floyd, Daxon Floyd, Ava Floyd, Tommy Dobbs; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, C.L. Dobbs; grandson, Brandon W. Dobbs, brother, Leslie Howard Smith, Jr.; sister, Sara B. Sallas; brother, Jimmy Smith; sister, Frances Pogue; sister, Sherldean T. Kendrick and brother, Edward Smith. Pallbearers will be Glenn Brooks, Leslie Smith, Robert Tarwater, Howard Smith, Justin Tarwater and Raley Curtis. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Wayne Smith and Dandy Smith. The family would like to express a special thanks to Kaye Carpenter who diligently took care of "Nanny" and loved her like her own grandmother, "Nanny" loved you so much. Another thanks to Amedisys Hospice for the brief but wonderful care you gave our beloved one. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel will direct the services.

It brought back memories I spent with you.

We live on Pinecrest Dr. Childersburg...been here about 10 years.

I talked with Rod Moyes about 2 months ago.

I share your joy of precious memories of mom...and the sorrow of loosing your best friend.
