Our mother lived a life filled with adventure, joy and laughter. Agnes’ fun loving spirit naturally drew others to her wherever she went. In her early years living in Austria she did experience hardships that came from the war. She cherished her mother, Agnes, her sisters Frieda and Maria, and her brothers Herman and Andy.
In 1954 Agnes and her young son, Gerhard traveled by ship to Canada. The voyage took nine days! Her sister, Frieda and her husband Norbert were awaiting their arrival. Agnes’s husband Adolf joined them a year later. They resided in Vancouver until 1962.
They then moved to Fort St. John, BC where her husband Adolf, an electrician, began his business St. John Electric. Her daughters Mellissa and Sharon were born in 1964. In 1970 they built a 12 suite apartment building, Melsher Manor, which Agnes managed for 30+ years.
Agnes loved to travel with family and friends and enjoyed trips To Mexico, Hawaii and several wonderful trips to Europe.
In 2001 Agnes and Adolf moved into a lovely home in Chilliwack, BC. Adolf was not well and passed away in 2003.
Agnes resided in Chilliwack until her passing. Agnes loved the Lord. We enjoyed taking Communion together and even though her memory was failing she could easily recite the Lord’s Prayer. She will be greatly missed by all. We her family are so grateful that she is no longer suffering and is now dancing with the angels in heaven! Our mother will be forever in our hearts.
There will be a private family Celebration of Life for Agnes at a later time.
