Amanda was born on April 13, 1981, in Chilliwack, British Columbia. She was the eldest daughter of Greg and Shelley (Hornell) O’Neil, and a cherished big sister to her younger twin sisters, Sara and Darcy.
A true free spirit, Amanda moved often and followed her own path. She was highly intelligent and naturally gifted with technology. From a young age, Amanda was computer savvy and excelled in her computer courses at school. She later worked for a short time in IT at Chilliwack City Hall, where her skills and aptitude were clear.
Amanda had a deep and abiding love for animals, especially dogs, who held a special place in her heart. Her childhood golden retriever, Mokey, was her constant companion, and the two were inseparable. Amanda even taught Mokey agility tricks on the school playground, a reflection of her creativity, patience, and joyful spirit.
Though her life was far too short, Amanda will be remembered for her intelligence, her free spirit, and the love she shared with her family and animals. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
