I've been asked to post the short eulogy I gave at the funeral service:

About 25 years ago I moved to the Pacific Northwest from DC with Nancy  - Andy's daughter - and our two kids.  I basically knew no one out here except the Stetars - Andy, his wife Anne, and their children, Cathy, Sandra, Doug and Nancy - my wife. I found myself relying on Andy for help getting situated out here.

Andy was always generous with his help and advice. He became more than a father-in-law to me - he became my best friend. 

Andy was extememly loyal and proud of his family; always willing to help in any way he could. In particular, he found great joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were always able to make him smile and laugh, and he would do anything for them.

Andy was a tireless worker. I'm sure that this trait was part of the reason he became a farmer. I don't think that Andy knew how to NOT work when something needed to be done. That's something I always try to remember from Andy: that any problem can be addressed by working at it bit-by-bit - relentlessly - until it is solved.

I loved Andy and will miss him very much. I think we can all take inspriation from his honesty, integrity and hard work.

Dad, I love you and will miss you always.  You, along with Mom, gave me a wonderful childhood and stood by me every day of my life.  Now that your time on this earth has ended I take peace in knowing that you are once again with Mom and that your struggles are over.  After living a long and very good life I wish you peace with Mom.
