March 14, 1944 - August 25, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Elizabeth Godfrey at the age of 81 years. She was a loving wife, mother, gramma, and great gramma.
Born on March 14, 1944 in Blaenavon, Wales, Carol immigrated to Canada at the young age of 2 1/2yrs. She grew up in Burnaby, where she met her future husband Douglas. They married in 1964, and began their lives together. Welcoming three children, starting in 1967, they moved their family to North Delta, relocating to Sardis in 1976, and a few years later to their forever home, a hobby farm on Majuba Hill in Yarrow, spending many wonderful years there together. It was here that Carol bred and showed Airedale Terriers for over 40 years under the kennel name Majubadale Airedales, a passion that gave her so much joy throughout the years.
In earlier years Carol worked with children with physical disabilities at Woodlands School in New Westminster; she adored children. After starting a family and moving to the Fraser Valley, Carol worked at Sears as store security, bringing home many interesting stories to share.
Carol loved to spend her summers at their property up at Big Bar lake outside of Clinton, where she enjoyed swimming, kayaking, visiting friends, and just relaxing in the sun with a good book. At the time of her passing, they were finally building their dream log home at the lake, something she had always wanted to do.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of over 60yrs, Douglas Godfrey; her children, Doug (Michelle) Godfrey, Joanne Godfrey, and Michael Godfrey; her grandchildren, Brett (Emily), Logan, and Kendal; her great-grandchildren, Aubree, Mael, and Hazel; and her brother Geoff. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Tobias and Elizabeth Tobiasson
Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her family who loved her so very very much.
