It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our family's matriarch Jean Longstaff at the age of 75, on May 6th, 2020.

Jean was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Jean is lovely remembered by her husband of 42 years Gordon Longstaff, her sons, Mike, Casey and John Longstaff, daughter-in-law Joanne Giroux, son Darren Longstaff and daughter-in-law Val Longstaff, daughter Kim Dalkeith, son-in-law Wayne Dalkeith, daughter Sherry Casey, and many others that called her mom, 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a great granddaughter that is expected any day.

She is predeceased by her parents Mike and Marie Melnyk, her sisters Maryanne and Rosemarie, a son Tom Casey.

Jean loved people of every walk of life, they were always welcomed into the home that she took such pride in. Her love for kids and pets was something above and beyond, and she loved to have her family dinners. You never left her house hungry. She made the best shortbread cookies anyone has ever had, she was talented, loving, funny, and very crafty and creative. She had a wonderful way with people. If you were lucky enough to know Jean she had a bubbly and caring personality that left a lasting impression. She loved her family with everything she had especially her grandchildren.

There are so many memories. Jean loved family get together whether it was at their place or ours. I was NEVER allowed to be in her kitchen, even to help with dishes. When they came to our place and she'd offer to help, yup told her to get out of my kitchen 🥰. We would go out for dinner, we loved our nights out to Jubilations Dinner Theater, Jean was always raving about their buns, I'm sure our waiter thought she was putting them in her purse, she did only a few 🙂. Jean treated me like her daughter, she gave the biggest and best hugs ever. I will miss and love you forever. ❤❤❤

So sorry for your loss. Yannie and I loved her dearly. We would talk every few weeks and she would always ask how her grandbabies were doing. (Our pups Ernie and Maybel) as she loved them dearly. We will miss these chats but will always carry the fond memories we have and hold them close to our hearts.
