His passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Known for his booming laugh, larger-than-life personality and unwavering loyalty, Charlie was someone who made people feel welcome instantly.
Born in Sligo, Ireland and raised in the close-knit countryside communities of Cootehall and Knockvicar, Ireland, Charlie’s love for adventure, hard work and the outdoors began early in life. He attended primary school in Cootehall before later attending school in Drumshanbo and Carrick-on-Shannon as a teenager. Charlie was known from a young age as a kind, energetic boy who could find joy in the simplest things and turn everyday moments into adventures.
Growing up in rural Ireland shaped so much of who Charlie became. He loved working alongside his father on the farm and took pride in country life and the strong sense of community that surrounded him. He played with his local GAA football club and was involved in the local gun club. Sundays were often spent fishing with his parents and sisters, and those family outings sparked a lifelong love of water that stayed with him forever. As a teenager, many of his summers were spent at Knockvicar Bridge swimming with friends, forming friendships and memories that stayed deeply important to him long after leaving Ireland.
Charlie was never afraid of hard work. When the family home was badly flooded in 2009, he worked side-by-side with his father and cousins helping rebuild and restore it, learning new skills and tackling every challenge head-on. After finishing school, his adventurous spirit led him abroad to India, where he taught and coached children — and where he famously suffered the worst sunburn of his life, a story his family loved to laugh about given his famously pale Irish skin.
Charlie eventually found his calling as a butcher, beginning a career that first brought him to London and later to Chilliwack, where he built a life, career and family he was immensely proud of. Charlie was deeply passionate about his work in the beef industry and built a successful career with Meadow Valley Meats, where he became an operations manager overseeing multiple plant operations. Respected for his leadership, determination and willingness to give people opportunities, Charlie believed in hard work and in seeing potential in others.
Above all else, Charlie was devoted to his family. He leaves behind his heartbroken fiancée and partner of nearly ten years, Taylor Nicole Walker and their beloved son, Shae, who was the absolute center of his world. Charlie was endlessly proud of being a father and cherished every moment spent with his “little man.” He was also eagerly counting down the days until marrying Taylor this November and was so happy with the life they had built together.
Charlie will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, infectious laugh, quick wit and unwavering loyalty to the people he loved. He had a gift for making friends wherever he went, maintaining lifelong friendships from Ireland while building a strong community of friends and chosen family in Canada.
Charlie is lovingly remembered by fiancé Taylor Walker and son Shae; his parents, Cathal and Anne Beirne; his sisters Kelly (Tim) and Eimhear; Taylor’s parents Kristen and Mike Walker; Taylor’s siblings Payton (Gavin) and Marcus (Christine); his nieces and nephews Monica, Amare, Marely, Oliver, Tristan, Olivia, Ava, Amelia and Ace; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends across Ireland and Canada whose lives were forever changed by knowing him.
A Celebration of Life for Charlie will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Harrison Memorial Hall in Agassiz, BC. The service will be livestreamed at https://www.legacystreaming.com/dignity-chilliwack/

Charlie’s absence leaves a silence that cannot be measured but the love, laughter, stories and the joy he gave will continue to echo through every life he touched.
