Cindie Gayle Palmer was born on August 21, 1960, after spending her early childhood in Lumby BC she then moved to the Fraser Valley, where she built her home, raised her family, and became known for her strength, humor, and steady presence. She passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 65, after a hard-fought, decade-long battle with Crohn’s disease. Through it all, she faced life the same way she always had — with stubborn determination and her signature sense of humor.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Brent Palmer; her son Adam Palmer and his wife Sheena, and their sons Lux and Ridge; her daughter Danalee Algra and her husband Dave, and their sons Lee and Kesler; her mother, Lovona; her brother Henry and sister Ronda; her beloved dogs, Dakota and Digger; her cats, Sky and Callie; as well as many close friends who felt more like family.
She was predeceased by her “father,” Doug, and her brothers Bill “Butch” Simpson and Gary Simpson.
Her family was everything to her. She wasn’t big on grand speeches or fuss — she showed her love by being there, helping without being asked, and standing firmly in your corner no matter what. Her kids and grandkids always knew they could count on her.
Cindie had a special connection with animals, especially her horses, dogs, and cats. Caring for them wasn’t just something she enjoyed — it was simply part of who she was. There was always an animal nearby that had found its way into her heart.
She was wise, quick with a joke, and tough as nails. She spoke plainly, laughed easily, and handled challenges head-on. Even during difficult years, she stayed herself — strong, honest, and never one to complain. Brent and the kids will always hear her voice teasing, “You’re a wuss,” or reminding everyone, “I’m tough,” and “I don’t give a shit,” said with that familiar smirk that somehow made everything feel manageable.
That was Cindie — resilient, loving, loyal, and completely herself.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
