CLAIR JOHN NYGARD

After a hard fought battle with cancer, Clair Nygard has gone fishing. He leaves his loving and caring wife of 54 years Valree, daughter Jill (Joel), son Clay, and grandsons Troy, Owen and Dylan waiting on the dock. He is survived by his sister Sharon and sister-in-law Verla (Barry). He loved his family, cherished his dogs and thoroughly enjoyed time with his extended family and friends. A day spent outside in the garden, hunting or on the water were always his first choices and if his son was in the boat and the fish were biting all was good. He was one of the best power moochers on the West Coast catching many 50 and two over 70. He was the original sports fishing pioneer in Hakai Pass, putting it on the map as the fishing destination. He owned and successfully ran Active Sales and Marketing for over 40 years. He respected and trusted his partner Geri and his dedicated staff long after he retired. He was a unique, one of a kind guy right up to the end and that is exactly what we will miss. Please join us as we celebrate his adventure filled life on June 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack. No flowers please, donations to the Chilliwack Hospice Society, 45360 Hodgins Avenue, Chilliwack, BC V2P 1P5 or online at www.chilliwackhospice.org are appreciated. A special thank you to the medical and nursing staff for treating him with such dignity and kindness.

Arrangements under the direction of Henderson's Funeral Homes & Crematorium Ltd., Chilliwack, British Columbia.

I worked for Clair at Active Sales & Marketing for ten years and then a further six and a half when we transisted to CKN. I shall remember Clair for his outstanding leadership, for his strength and sense of fair play, and for his kindness and sense of humour. He was an exceptional person.
The Cox Family - Val, Tony & Mark from Lions Bay send our deepest condolences to Valree, Clay, and Gill and family.

Sincere condolences, Val, on the loss of Clair. I remember when you were both Princess Margaret students and you were new to the school. It didn't take Clair long to snap you up. I'm sure you're experiencing a great emptiness.

Valree and family & Sharon - we were saddened to hear of cousin Clair's passing. The family gatherings and reunions will miss his presence and the many stories he always had to tell - usually of his fishing and hunting adventures. Clair was always happy and laughing, just as in the photo you have posted. All the wonderful memories are what helps us through this difficult time. Our deepest sympathy to you all.
