He leaves behind Connie, his beloved wife of 54 years, and his children Tim (Brenda), Jim, Cathy, and Jeff (Rachael) and 18 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law and a niece.
Cor was born on March 30,1944 in the Netherlands at the end of WW2; he was remarkably spared two times as an infant. At the age of 11, he moved to Australia with his family, and at 22 years old, he immigrated to Canada with his brother. He married Connie (Maljaars) on November 20, 1969. Together, they spent many years farming in the Chilliwack area. He also was a trucker in later and in early years. He was a man of small stature and was very private with his thoughts, however, he was strong in his principles and in his work ethic. His love and care for others was very real. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. In his final years, he struggled with many health problems, but true to his character, he never complained, always put the next person first, and always had a ready cheerful smile or response. He will be deeply missed.
There is an opportunity to offer condolences on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 7:00-8:00 pm in the fellowship hall at the Bethel Netherlands Reformed Church (8920 Broadway St., Chilliwack).
