Darwin Eustace Ming was born in Georgetown, Guyana on February 20, 1939. In his early 20's he moved to London, England where he met his future wife Esther Vincent. They were married and h ad two sons, Laurence and Trevor. Shortly after Trevor's birth they moved to Vancouver, Canada where he had his third son Andrew. Darwin worked as a welder while attending college to become an appraiser. Upon graduating he accepted work as a property appraiser with BC Assessment. He advanced his career with stops in Surrey, BC, Terrace, BC, and then back to Surrey. Darwin worked at BC Assessment for over 25 years and retired with them.
Darwin worked faithfully to provide for his family and enjoyed playing with his boys. Darwin and Laurence enjoyed working on cars, playing badminton and collecting vinyl records. With Trevor, Darwin enjoyed martial arts, tennis, golf and meeting up for lunch. Andrew always made sure Darwin was in style and adorned him with the "latest". "Andy" and dad loved just being together.
Through the ups and downs of life Darwin and Esther demonstrated perseverance which was rewarded in November of 2015 when Darwin and Esther celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary eating ice cream! They are proud grand parents of Joshua, Emily, Nathan, Jade and Isaac. Darwin deeply loved his grand kids and was blessed to have many memorable and blessed times with all his grand kids. He is deeply loved and missed by each one.
Darwin received Jesus as a young husband and father and always encouraged his children and grand children to love Jesus. He demonstrated this faithfully as he struggled, persisted and overcame the challenges of life by always doing his best to trust God. Darwin knew of the love and grace of Jesus that covered over his sins and blessed him with a rich family life and love. Darwin remained faithful till Jesus called him home on January 2, 2016. His wife, sons and grand children are extremely proud of him for never quitting on life even when life had hit him hard.
He enjoyed and shared the love of music with all his off spring. Stereo and records with Laurence. Playing the guitar with Trevor. Listening to music with Andrew. Darwin passed along his flute and saxophone to his grand daughter, Emily. His violin is enjoyed by Jade.
Darwin so enjoyed watching all his grandsons excel in hockey. He was very proud of his boys and had great fun watching his grandsons skate, shoot and score.
Another great past time was golfing with friends until his grand daughters came along and started beating both him and their dad. The best foursome in the world was golfing with his grand daughters and his son.
Darwin's sisters and brothers are scattered throughout Canada and the US and have always enjoyed their times of being together when opportunities arose whether in Toronto, Sarasota, New Hamphire or Victoria. As the older brother Darwin cared deeply for each of his siblings.
Darwin will be missed greatly by all and maybe no more than his boys. Andrew, Trevor and Laurence loved their dad greatly and each of them had their own special times with him for over four decades. Darwin grew into the father that each of his sons was blessed to have and each of them will always remember him as their best friend.
You are loved, cherished and deeply missed Darwin by all who you loved and blessed, your wife, your sons, your grand kids, your siblings and your friends. We are proud of you that you finished your race and are now in the arms of Jesus!
