David Brent Lister

We are sad to announce the passing of Brent Lister, dear husband, father, grandfather, brother in law and uncle on September 25, 2023. Brent was born in 1939 in Vancouver, BC and lived in both BC and Nova Scotia with his beloved family: Kate, wife of 62 years; sons Gordon and David and daughter Allison; grandchildren, Jamie, Jessie and the late Rachel.

Brent was a Fishery Biologist with the Federal Government for 15 years and established his Consulting Firm, DB Lister and Associates in 1976. He advised governments and private companies on fishery management from BC, Washington, Oregon to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. He was well respected by his associates and colleagues in the field.

Brent and Kate shared many years with their family and friends enjoying the outdoors: hiking, camping, canoeing and fishing. As a biologist he followed the practice of catch and release and loved spending time on the river. He cared deeply for the environment. His contribution to Fisheries Science was extensive.

Brent was loved and admired by his family and friends and will be very much missed.

A Celebration of Life for Brent will be held at Henderson's Funeral Home, Chilliwack on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 2:00pm.
