Donald "Donnie" Leonard Joseph Alarie, a loving and dependable son, brother, and friend, was born on July 31, 1968, in Thompson, Manitoba. He passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 55 In Chilliwack British Columbia. He will be deeply missed by his loving family, dear friends, his dog Delilah, and all who knew him.
Donald was predeceased by his father Hubert Alarie, his stepfather Ray Klapprat, and his older brother Mitch Alarie. He is survived by his mother Marie Agnes "Armande" Klapprat, his brother Mark (Cheryl) Alarie, the love of his life, Charla Wells and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Donald was a calm, non-judgmental, unique, easy-going man content with the quiet things in life. He was a private person, but his genuine, sincere, and kind heart made him a beloved figure in his community. He was quick to help anyone he knew or a stranger if he could. Donald was a very smart, handy, and resourceful individual who could fix anything. He had an innate ability and a way of thinking that was completely his own. He was an excellent mechanic, plumber, and all-around jack of all trades. He had a passion for fishing and boating. He enjoyed a good movie and making his ultimate homemade popcorn. He also loved his sweets—chocolate and Coca-Cola! He was famous for falling asleep at the drop of a hat.
Donald had been caring for his mother since his dad passed away; he loved his mom so much and was so proud of her. He loved spending time with his sweet girl, Delilah. He loved her so much, and she was his number one; you could just see the beautiful bond they had. They loved to cuddle.
Donald's passing leaves a void in the lives of all his loved ones. He will be deeply missed and always remembered for his kindness, generosity, loyalty, and intelligence. Rest in peace, dear Donald; your memory will be cherished by all who knew you.
