

Donald Wayne Benson (Benny) passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, in Chilliwack, BC, at the age of 74. Born on October 21, 1951, in Vancouver, BC, Don grew up in Coquitlam and graduated from Centennial High School in 1969.
From a young age, Don worked alongside his father as a fisherman in the Queen Charlotte Islands. In 1974, he and his father, Orval, founded Benson Tank Lines, a trucking company that became a testament to their hard work and entrepreneurial spirit.
Don’s passion for sports was evident throughout his life. He enjoyed hockey, baseball, and slow pitch, and was a proud owner of a Vintage Porsche, which he raced at Sovren Vintage Racing events with his friends.
He cherished traveling with his wife, Brenda, and together they explored many destinations in their motorhome.
Don is predeceased by his parents, Orval and Olive Benson; mother-in-law Mary and son-in-law Gord. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Brenda; sons Jamie (Amber) and Kris; daughter Shanna; grandchildren Brooklynn, Brandon, Madison, Aliya, Carter, Milana; great-granddaughter Sophia; sister Gail (Price); nephew Sean; and niece Lindsay.
Don will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him.
