Donna met her soulmate, Ernie Livingstone, from Austin, Manitoba and they were married August 10th, 1963. Together they raised their daughters Marilyn and Theresa in Brandon, Mb.
She loved to crochet, and many beautiful dollies that she created were displayed throughout her home. She was also a talented seamstress and made beautiful outfits for her girls as they were growing up, even making them matching Christmas dresses for pictures with Santa.
She was excited about the arrival of her one and only granddaughter, Kaitlyn Rose. She continued with the tradition of making beautiful dresses for her christening, Easter, Birthdays, and Christmas, each dress especially made with love and treasured to this day.
Donna loved to entertain family and friends. and our home came to be known as the Dew Drop Inn on Friday nights and are filled with memories of dear friends, either sitting around the kitchen table playing a game of cards or BBQs and cold beers on sweltering summer days after a round of golf. She hosted many family gatherings for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve Parties that included dancing and doing the limbo. Cherished memories were made with of all of us gathered around the dinner table for Turkey with all the trimmings, and trays of dainties and her famous whipped shortbread cookies.
Mom loved to travel, in 1980 they flew to Hawaii where later the famous Maui Steak was introduced. You always had to have garlic sausage, cheese, crackers, pickles at happy hour plus your favorite cocktail when at the Dew Drop Inn/ Livingstone home. Her favorite places to visit were Harrison Hot Springs, Butchart Gardens, Vancouver Island and Cultus Lake for many rounds of golf.
Every summer they travelled back to Manitoba to visit their sweetie, Kaitlyn Rose, along with numerous other family members and friends. Mom loved camping at Clear Lake where every year they would take Kaitlyn camping for a week. The entire day was at the beach making sandcastles, having a picnic, and going for ice cream, followed by sitting around the campfire in the evening roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. The good old days of camping in the Jayco.
In June of 2019 Mom moved into the Eden Intermediate Care Home. She loved being a Mother Hen to everyone and she felt safe and secure in her new home. We would like to thank all the Nurses and staff at the home for their loving, tender care of our mom during her stay.
