Doug was born in Victoria, British Columbia. He grew up on the Island and finished high school in Haney. He loved hot cars and loved to race them. A dune buggy, a ’55 Chevy, a ’66 Canso, a ’66 GTO and a ’73 Z28 were his babies.
Doug was a journeyman carpenter and an apprentice scaffolder and was a member of The Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners for 20 years. He framed many houses and worked in many refineries but never forgot the good times working for his dad in the high arctic. Doug and dad are probably sitting down having a beer right now.
I am sure everyone who knew Doug can think of many good memories and good times and we will miss him.
