

Edward John Scherbey was born on February 19, 1949, in Ituna, Saskatchewan. Eldest son of Nellie and John Scherbey, where he attended school. In his younger days, he picked stones on the farm, as he grew older, he washed floors in an electrical business. Edward said to his boss, why are you paying me 25 cents an hour. The boss said "that's all you're worth. Once you finish school, we will give you some training in the electrical field." Edward then got his ticket as a journeyman electrician in Moosejaw at the Tehcnical School.
Edward met Gladys, Edward and his family moved to Chilliwack, British Columbia, and Gladys soon followed. They married January 23, 1970, had 2 sons, Dean and Corey. Corey was born on their anniversary. Edward was a member of International Brotherhood of Electricial Workers Local 213, and when dispatched worked across Canada. Edward loved Gladys, family, and everyone he got to meet. August 19, 2011, Corey died suddenly, which broke their hearts.
Edward died suddenly January 21, 2026. Edward and Gladys were married 56 years, and his passing was devastating to her and a shock to everyone who knew him. Edward will be greatly missed by everyone.
