Emil George Schmidt

Emil passed away peacefully on January 27, 2017 at the Chilliwack Hospital at the age of 90. Emil was born in Beausejour Manitoba, the youngest of 14 children born to Edward and Wilhelmina Schmidt.

Emil will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Colleen and Andrea, sisters in law Dorothy and Eleanor, brother in law Clarence, numerous nieces and nephews, and family friend Gael. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Marge),his parents, and all of his siblings.

Viewing and prayers will be held at 10 AM on February 7, 2017 at Woodlawn Mt Cheam Funeral Home, with Interment to follow at the Vedder View Gardens, Sardis. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:30 PM at Christ Lutheran Church, 9460 Charles Street, Chilliwack, with Pastor Dean Anderson officiating.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of 4 South for their care and comfort to Emil in the last weeks of his life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or to the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Collique Peru. Arrangements under the direction of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, Chilliwack, BC.
