Erich Henschel went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2016 at Chilliwack at the age of 88. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rita; children, Cornelia (David) Kauenhowen, Karin (Manfred) Fehlauer, Holger (Brigitte), and Peter (Anna); nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Erich is predeceased by his sister, Gertrud Gusse.
Erich was called to minister God’s word in Canada and in Germany. His love of reading began and ended with his bible and he lived his life accordingly. Erich was an avid gardener, striving each season to grow taller and taller sunflowers, his tomatoes were spectacular and he enjoyed sharing the bounty of his garden with others. A man who enjoyed exploring history and keeping up with current events, his family and friends will miss the lively discussions that developed when he was around.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 5, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Church of God, 45814 Lewis Ave, Chilliwack, BC Pastor Gerry Krebs officiant.
